Wednesday morning 6th September was a great morning! The sun was shining, the weather was warm and Christian leaders from all over the city arrived at Central Methodist Church at 7.45am to pray. The sense of joy amongst the regulars to be together again was evident and the anticipation of many was palpable.
Of great joy was the fact that we saw several leaders who were new to the meeting and therefore churches represented that had not previously been a part of One Voice prayer.
Over our August holidays much prayer had been going up to draw in other Christian leaders and expand the group; this was clearly the start of the answer!
A number of new youth workers have moved into the city to take up posts and it was good to see some of them also. In total 42 Christian leaders met for prayer (and some of the regulars were still away). What a joy it is that we can pray for the city of York with a common purpose – that His Kingdom might come!
How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along!
2 It’s like costly anointing oil flowing down head and beard,
Flowing down Aaron’s beard, flowing down the collar of his priestly robes.
3 It’s like the dew on Mount Hermon flowing down the slopes of Zion.
Yes, that’s where GOD commands the blessing, ordains eternal life. (THE MESSAGE)
If you are a Christian leader in York and don’t already meet with us, why not make the effort to come along. If the time isn’t good for you, then why not try to make it once a month?
Leaders’ prayer takes place at Central Methodist Church every Wednesday morning and we start promptly at 7.45am. Prayer last for one hour and is followed by hot drinks and toast. The event does not take place in August.
