Get Ready for Global Day of Prayer 2010

If you are coming to join us on the walls or at the Minster please carefully read the Guidance Document (vital if you are leading a group)

The City Walls Map shows you the sections of wall which are being used and when you register your group with Juliet Wright you will know where to join the walls. It is essential that you are designated a section to make sure that overcrowding is not a problem.

Access routes to the walls can be seen on the Access Map.

For those unable to ascend the walls, there will be special provision. We have been given permission to use the Residents’ Garden, behind the Minster Library, which goes straight to the walls and is very easily accessible.
Gather in Dean Park, behind the Minster, and you will be directed from there. Prayers for this group will be led by the hospital chaplaincy. Remember to bring a folding chair if you want!

Prayer on the walls will be in three distinct sections with the start of each signalled by bells. Stewards will hand out a prayer guide as you join the walls. prayer will start at 5.45pm on 23rd May and end at 6pm.

At 6pm we will walk to the Minster where a family prayer service will begin at 6.30pm which will have breakaway groups for youth, spiritual warfare, taize, and many others.

The meeting will finish with a precession of torches at 8.30pm.
