York Baptist Church, Trinity Church and York Evangelical Church are hosting an interview with Garin Jenkins (58 caps for Wales – Rugby) on Monday 28th May at 7.30pm for 8pm at Temple Hall, York St John University. Admission Free. The evening is entitled “A whole new ball game”

St Stephens/St Aidans, Acomb Baptist, Gateway, The Ark, Acomb Methodist, Our Lady’s and the Quakers are holding a ‘Big Picnic’ on Acomb Green on June 3rd at 1pm, when Bishop Wallace will be praying for the Queen and speaking to the crowd. Lots of activities for the children and a BBQ too!

English Martyrs’ are holding a ‘Celebration of Talents’ including a ‘Family Fun Sports Day’ on June 17th at 2pm (see website for entry form). A Flower Festival and an intriguing event called ‘Blazing Grannies’ are also included!

St Thomas with St Maurice (Lowther Street) are holding a Student Film night and discussion on 7th March (because Jesus wants us the think outside the box) a special Easter Cafe on 31st March (because Jesus cares about our community) and are keeping the church open over 28th May-1st June (because Jesus invites us into a quiet place with him)

Acomb Baptist Church are holding a men’s evening with Archbishop Sentamu on 16th May and a York Quiz on 31st May.

All Saints & St Andrews, Huntington and New Earswick, are planning a pub sports quiz on June 1st ,a family fun day on 2nd June, a Millegro Choir concert, 2 sports camps in local primary schools,a ‘Big Cream Tea’ and a ‘Jubillee Songs of Praise’ on 3rd June. 

St Edward the Confessor are planning a hog roast and a flower festival

St Michael-le-Belfrey Church are running a week of events across the city. This will involve a number of smaller, home grown, low key events to which friends and neighbours will be invited. We want to create opportunities for good company and conversation! These will include barbecues, dinner parties, quiz nights, curry nights, musical evenings, family fun days, football matches, wine or beer tastings and so on. See here for more information.

Clifton Parish Church (CPC) have some interesting plans for More Than Gold : An Evening with a man who has climbed Everest, A Healing evening with Bishop Martin, A Sports quiz night and Five a side football or a fun run.

St Mark’s Church, Rawcliffe have some provisional plans for More Than Gold that include a series of daytime events for elderberries and a special Youth Cafe.

The Ark Church is going to be busy in Foxwood during More Than Gold week inviting the community to hear Barry Woodward on Saturday 2nd June at 7.30pm in Foxwood Community Centre
