York Alpha Evening

Alpha North held a York Alpha Evening on Wednesday 31st May at St Oswald’s Parish Hall, Fulford.

The evening commenced at 7.15pm with tea  and coffee.

The event was billed as “an exiting opportunity to meet with other Christians from across York and talk about how Alpha is impacting the city”.

The most popular training course for adults continues to have a major impact worldwide, and within the city of York there are many success stories.

Introduced by Christian Selvaratnam, the evening centred on two short DVD presentations of the latest Alpha advertising for cinemas and a presentation of the whole alpha concept.

Christian interviewed  Alpha leaders about the success of Alpha locally, and also using targeted groups like ‘Alpha for  the third age’ and ‘Alpha in the workplace’.

There was a discussion time where we talked through our alpha strategies in small groups and we then reported back on what we had discussed. We also prayed in our groups.

The next major event locally will be the Alpha Prayer meeting in St Michael’s on September 21st at 7pm.
