FACILITIES ASSISTANT

THE GATEWAY CENTRE, ACOMB, YORK

 

We are looking for a Facilities Assistant for the Gateway Centre. The purpose of the role will be to provide a safe, secure and tidy environment with the aim of providing a high quality service for members of the community and Gateway Church who use the Centre throughout the week.

This includes the regular set up and service of bookings from external user groups, doing small maintenance tasks, and keeping on top of routine jobs that are needed to keep the Centre running smoothly. Those who apply must demonstrate reasonable levels of fitness, be of a practical nature, be able to work on their own initiative, and be able to support and reflect the values of Gateway Church.

Hours of working: 9 hours per week (with the possibility of 3 hours a week extra as need arises). 7.5 hours are to be worked from 8.00am-9.30am Monday to Friday. On Tuesday these hours will be extended until 11.00am to allow for attendance at the weekly staff prayer meeting. Some of these hours will need to be worked on occasional evenings and weekends.

Rate of pay: £8.63 per hour.

Employer & Benefits: The Facilities Assistant would be employed by Gateway (York) CIO (also known at Gateway Church). The charity operates a pension scheme and offers 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays.
