At a recent trustees meeting it was decided to recognise the ministry of Juliet Wright who has been a key figure in York’s Global Day of Prayer this year and last year. Juliet is in touch with a number of prayer networks and prayer leaders nationally and internationally.
As our One Voice ‘Prayer Representative’ Juliet has just returned from ‘For England Together’ – “A Forum for Leaders in Prayer across England’.
“For England Together” is facilitated by Jane Holloway, the National Prayer Director, World Prayer Centre, Birmingham. It is an attempt to gather together leaders in prayer from the regions, church streams, prayer ministries, prophetic and research ministries and organisations mobilising prayer for transformation across the nation. We are pleased to have a presence there.
Reporting back on the conference Juliet says:
“It is amazing how completely in tune we are here with what is happening all over this country.
There was an agreement that we have a window of opportunity for prayer. There was talk of revival coming like wildfire ‘jumping everywhere’. It was a time of weeping for the church and the recognition of the need for unity to become kingdom. There was a sense that the church in England is like an unfaithful wife but God’s wonderful love is drawing us back to him. There was also a real understanding that York has a critical part to play in the immediate spiritual future of our nation.
The various prayer streams are asking World Prayer Centre to develop a website to keep us all informed as what prayer is happening in the country – this is something we can look forward to.
2007 will be a year of prayer, which will be launched at Trumpet Call V on 21st October at the NEC.
The whole time was very encouraging and a real delight to know that we are part of what God is doing in our nation”
We thank God for Juliet Wright’s ministry as Prayer Representative. Watch out for more prayer news in the future.
